How Time Categories Work in a Time Allocation

You need to select a time category for every source that you include in a time allocation. The time category identifies which time entries the time calculation rule with the allocation uses to calculate the corresponding allocation outputs.

For example, allocate all time entries with a payroll attribute value of Regular as follows:

  • 25 percent to department 1001
  • 35 percent to department 1002
  • 40 percent to department 1003

You can use only hours-based time categories in time allocations.
