Setup to Handle Midnight-Spanning Time and Overtime Day Start

Here are the setup tasks that you need to complete to derive and use the earned date for time entries that span midnight. It's also how you specify and use the overtime day in overtime calculations.

  1. Configure workday definitions that support your policies for earned dates and the day start for overtime. Use the Workday Definitions task in the Setup and Maintenance work area. It's part of the Workforce Deployment offering, Time and Labor functional area.
  2. Assign a workday definition to each person whose time entries can span midnight or who has a nonstandard overtime day. On the Employment Info page for your team or client groups, use the Assignment Hours Details icon. The icon is next to the Working Hours field.
  3. Create time rules to calculate overtime using time entry earned dates. Use the Rule Templates, Rules, and Rule Sets tasks. To link these rules to the appropriate groups of people, use the Worker Time Processing Profiles task. Both tasks are in the Time Management work area.
