Create Public Sector Payroll Information Card

Use the Public Sector Payroll Information calculation card to reassess the appropriate band to calculate the employee's LGPS rate, at a frequency that meets your business needs.

You can also choose the units for proration of APP.

This calculation card can be created at the Payroll Statutory Unit, and the Tax Reporting Unit Level. Any information entered at the TRU level will override the information at the PSU level.

Follow these steps to create a new Public Sector Payroll Information card:
  1. Set the Frequency on the new Public Sector Payroll Information calculation card on Payroll Statutory Unit or Tax Reporting Unit level.
  2. Create the Public Sector Payroll Information card with an effective date that is in sync with the start date of the pensionable pay period, e.g. for annual choose the start date of the financial year.
  3. Create the calculation component LGPS Information and the calculation component details LGPS Calculation Information.
  4. Select the Calculation Rate Frequency:
    • Monthly or Periodically (default value if nothing is selected: valid for monthly or lunar frequencies)
    • Quarterly
    • Semiannual
    • Annual

    Use the field APP Proration Units to define the proration of the Assumed Pensionable Pay based on a daily or workday basis. This unit is used to calculate the employer contributions for a partial pay period in case of reduced pay due to sickness, injury or child related leave.
