Examples of Overriding a Location-Based Tax for the US

In instances where Vertex imposes a location-based tax, and the employer disagrees with it, you can override the tax.

Do this by changing the relevant employee's work or home location.

Override the Employee Home Location

To create the override:

1. From My Client Groups, click Person Management.

2. Search for the person.

3. Select Person Information.

4. In Name and Addresses, select Create Address.

5. In the Create Address window, create the wanted address using the Resident Tax Address type.

Override the Employee Work Location

To create the override:

1. From My Client Groups, click Show More.

2. In Employment, click Employment Info.

3. Search for the person.

4. In Assignment, select Edit.

5. Select the address in Work Tax Address.
