Manage Archive and Purge Settings

You can configure HCM Atom feeds to archive and purge entries after a certain period. When you archive entries, they no longer appear in the feed. However, you can still access them using an archive version of the feed. For more information, see Reading Atom Feeds. When you purge entries, they are deleted from the application.

Configure the Settings

To configure archive and purge settings, use the Manage HCM Atom Feeds task in the Setup and Maintenance work area. Make sure you have the Manage Atom Feeds privilege HRC_MANAGE_ATOM_FEEDS_PRIV to access this functionality. Here are a few points to consider:

  • Configuring reasonable archive and purge settings help in optimal performance of Atom feeds over time.
  • The default setting for HCM Atom feeds, unless specified otherwise, is 60 days for archive and 90 days for purge.
  • You can apply the settings to either new entries (without altering existing entries) or all the entries, in which case, the archive and purge dates of all the existing entries are recalculated.

Schedule the Job

Purge jobs are automatically scheduled to run:
  • Daily: Data is purged according to the settings that are defined at the day level (such as, purge entries older than 3 days)
  • On the fourth Sunday of every month: Data is purged according to any purge settings.

You can't update or override this schedule. However, you can create additional schedules as needed or submit ad hoc purge processes to purge specific collections.

Use the Purge Atom Feed Entries from Oracle Fusion Schema job in the Scheduled Processes work area. You must have the Purge Atom Feeds privilege HRC_PURGE_ATOM_FEEDS_PRIV to run the purge process. Provide the Collection parameter as applicable.

  • To run the process on a single collection, provide the fully qualified name of the collection to be purged, such as employee/empupdate and workstructures/jobs
  • To run the process on all the collections in all the workspaces, leave this parameter empty.
