Configure Payment Method Preferences

Configure preferences related to payment methods within a legislative data group (LDG) using Payment Method Preferences. Preferences are applied when your self-service employees enter payment methods for payroll payments.

Note:

If you support multiple organization payment methods of the same payment type, you MUST indicate which of these should be available to your self-service users, using the Payment Method Preferences page.

If you intend to support multiple organization payment methods of the same payment type, then the Organization Payment Method field will appear on the Payment Methods page.

Choose from the list of existing LDGs for the Payment Method Preference.

Payment Method Preferences are applied to LDGs. In all cases, choose your LDG for the preference.

What organization payment methods should be available for employees to select?

Choose from the list of existing OPMs for the LDG you want available to your employees on the Payment Method page.

Note: When you choose multiple OPMs for the same payment type, employees will select from an OPM list instead of a payment type list to set up their personal payment methods.

You support check/cheque and EFT payment methods but you only want checks/cheques to be issued under certain circumstances. In this case, choose your EFT OPM and don't choose your check/cheque OPM from the list.

What is the maximum number of payment methods an employee should be allowed to create?

Enter the maximum number of payment methods you want an employee to create.

Note: This number means an employee can create as many payment methods as they want equal to or less than this number.

You want to restrict the number of personal payment methods employees can create to 1. In this case, enter 1 into the field.

What payment amount types should be available for employees to select?

Choose from the list of payment amount types you want available to your employees on the Personal Payments page.

Note: The system default is Both.

You want employees to only create payment methods with percentages. In this case, choose Percentage from the list.

What payment methods should employees not be allowed to edit?

Choose from the list of existing OPMs for the LDG you want to restrict your employees from editing on the Payment Method page.

You support paying employees by Pay Card, however, you want the personal payment method details to only be entered by professional users. In this case, choose your pay card OPM from the list for your employees to view this information but not make any edits.

Should the above selected payment methods be excluded from the 100% validation logic?

Choose Yes or No from the list to include the available payment methods that aren't allowed to be edited but are included in the 100% validation rule.

You support Pay Card, however, you want to exclude this from the 100% validation rule so that your employees' salary can't be split between Pay Card and another payment method. In this case, choose Yes from the list.
