You need to complete these setup tasks before you create and assign time
allocations.
You complete these tasks in the Setup and Maintenance work
area, Workforce Deployment offering:

Configure the time entry objects.

To prepare costing attributes for use in time card fields, complete these
tasks:
- Create payroll value sets using the Manage Value Sets task. On the Tasks
panel tab, use Search to find this task.
- Set up the cost allocation key flexfield using the Cost Allocation Key
Flexfield task.
- Set up the cost allocation key flexfield usage to be available at the
element entry level.
- Generate the costing time attributes using the Generate Data Dictionary
Time Attributes task.

To uniquely identify regular and on call hours, create payroll elements and
calculation components for time cards using the Elements task.

To let people report relevant time, create time entry fields using the Time
Entry Layout Components task.

To identify the regular and on call time entries, create time categories
using the Time Categories task.

To automatically generate relevant time entries, create time calculation
rules using the Time Rules and Time Rule Sets tasks.

To identify the people to link to the time allocations, create groups using
the HCM Groups task.

To view and override time allocations, configure the appropriate layout sets and
time entry profiles.

Add the dependent fields for the cost segments to time review, view, and
approval notification layouts in a layout set. Use the Time Layout Sets
task.

Link the layout set to the relevant individuals and their managers using the
Worker Time Entry Profiles task.
