Verifying Geographies

Geography information is used in Oracle HCM Cloud Application for address entry and validation, and geography-based business processes, such as territory management and shipping.

There are no predefined geographies for India and you must define them yourself. The recommended geography structure for India is:

• Country

• State

• City

• Postal Code

You can use one of the Oracle approved data provider, for example Loqate. If you want to upload and maintain geography data from, refer to the following link for further details.

1. Click Human Resources

2. Click All Books

3. Click the HTML link of Implementing Global Human Resources

4. Click on Geographies for HCM > How You Import Geographies

Import/Export Framework for the Geography Data

Refer to the following implementation guide for the navigation steps and procedures of import/export frame work for the geography data.

1. Go to https://docs.oracle.com/en/cloud/saas/index.html

2. Under Service, click B2B Service

3. Click All Books

4. Under the Implementation heading, click the HTML link of Understanding Import and Export Management for CX Sales and B2B Service.

5. Go to the Import Your Data chapter and click on the topic Import Your Geography Data

Verify Geography Data

After loading geography data, you can verify whether geography data has been uploaded successfully from the Manage Geography Hierarchy screen.

1. Search for and select the Manage Geographies task

2. Search for the geography code starting with IN

3. Click the green checkmark for each type of geography data you want to verify:

   1. Address Cleansing Defined

   2. Structure Defined

   3. Hierarchy Defined

   4. Validation defined

4. Verify the information on each page and make any necessary changes, then click Save and Close.
