Create a Rates-Based Salary Basis

Create a salary basis with base salary, allowance, short-term incentive plan, grade-based performance award, and overall salary rate components. Users will enter values for the base salary and short-term components. The other component values are calculated and can't be overridden.

Fastpath: My Client Groups > Compensation > Salary Basis

1. On the Salary Basis page, click the Create icon.
2. On the Create Salary Basis page, enter a name, such as US Rates-Based Salary.
3. In the Salary Basis Type field, select Salary amount is determined by rates.
4. In the Rates section, add the rate definitions, as shown by these example values:

   Rate Definition Name	Category
   US Base Salary	Element
   US Allowance	Element
   US Short-Term Incentive Plan	Element
   Grade-Based Performance Award	Value by Criteria
   Overall Salary	Derived Rate

5. Click Validate.
6. Fix any validation issues and validate again until validation completes successfully.
7. Click Save and Close.
