Create a Salary Category

This example demonstrates how to create a salary category that includes All salaries, with Salary as a Source Type.

Before you start

  1. Check whether you have at least 1 salary basis configured and assigned to employees.

Here's what to do

  1. Create a compensation item.
    1. Click the Manage Compensation Items task.
    2. Click Create.
    3. Complete the fields as shown in this table:

      Item Name Salary
      Source Type Salary
      Selection Criteria All salaries
      Salary Basis Type All
      Estimated Amount Not checked
    4. Click Save and Close.
  2. Enter category details and add items.
    1. Click the Manage Compensation Categories task.
    2. Click Create.
    3. Complete the fields, as shown in this table.

      Category Type Cash Compensation
    4. Click Continue.
    5. Select Viewers drill into details in the Level of Detail field.
    6. Click the Salary compensation item.
    7. Complete the fields for each new row as shown in this table.

      Salary Your Salary Salary
    8. Click Edit Column Properties and select the Your Contribution column.
    9. Select Do not display in the statement.
    10. Click OK.
    11. Click Save and Close.
