Elements and Balance Feeds for ASC
You need to create the required eligibility profile for the predefined elements for ASC. These are the elements for ASC calculation process:
| Element Namr | Description |
|---|---|
| IE ASC | Associated with the calculation card. |
| ASC Calculator | Performs the calculation of the ASC and Additional ASC Calculations. |
| ASC Distributor | Used where the employee may have multiple assignments, to split the deduction across the relevant assignments. |
| ASC Employee Deduction | Main employee deduction element. |
| ASC Employee Additional Deduction | Used where the employee has additional contributions which are then calculated differently/reported separately. |
Ensure that you select the correct effective date to create the element eligibility so that it's available for all relevant employees.
Balance Feeds
You need to ensure that the correct elements feed the relevant balances for the purposes of calculating the values relating to the ASC deduction. The balances that need to be associated with the elements are:
| Balance Name | Description |
|---|---|
| IE Additional Superannuation Contribution Earnings | This balance is automatically fed by standard earnings. Review to ensure that any earnings which should not be reflected in the calculation are excluded and are removed from the balance feeds. Add the ones that aren't included. such as Pensionable Earnings. |
| IE Additional Superannuation Contribution Additional Earnings | Associate any earnings that are not covered above, for example, Non-Pensionable Earnings. These should be accounted for as Additional Earnings’ and calculated under the Additional Earnings rules. |
Important: Ensure that the elements are not
included in both balances as this may lead to double deductions.
