Here's how you can create an agent to deliver results of an OTBI analysis.

Create Agent to Deliver Results of an OTBI Analysis

1. Start on the Catalog page in Oracle Transactional Business Intelligence.

2. Expand My Folders. To begin, open an existing Birthday Email Analysis.

3. Select the Birthday E-mail Analysis. This lists all the managers, the employees in their teams, and their upcoming birthdays.

   In this case, “upcoming” means all employees who have birthdays in the following month. You don't want to send a list of all employee birthdays to all managers. Each manager needs to get the list of workers for their team only.

4. Click the Catalog tab.

5. On Birthday Email Analysis, from the More menu, choose Schedule. To create this agent, return to the catalog and create a schedule.

6. Click the Schedule tab. Schedule the agent to run on the first day of every month.

7. Set Frequency to Monthly.

8. Set On to Day 1. Select all 12 months.

9. Click the Condition tab. You can create a Condition, then test to make sure that the default condition, which tests whether there are birthdays for the current month, is true.

10. Click Test.

11. Click the Deliver Content tab.

12. For the Subject, enter Manager Team Birthday List

13. Click the Format list to show the other available options, but don't change it. Now choose the delivery contents.

    You can change the format if needed.

14. Click the Recipients tab. You need to include managers, so remove any recipients and select Get Recipients from the Analysis Used in the Agent Condition.

    If there are any user names in the Recipient box, select and delete them using the X icon.

15. Select Get Recipients from the Analysis Used in the Agent Condition.

16. From the Column Containing Recipients list of values, choose Manager User Name. You could select a second column containing recipients if needed. The user name is pulled from the manager's Connections entry.

17. Select the Only Return Rows Relevant to the User Running the Agent. You can see rows that are relevant to the user who's running the agent.

18. Click the Save icon. Save the Agent.

19. Enter Birthday Email Agent for both the Name and Description.

20. Click OK. This Agent will now run on the first day of every month and deliver the list of birthdays to the managers.
