Overview of Enhanced HCM Extracts
Enhanced HCM Extracts use a redesigned extracts engine that improves how extract data is processed, generated, and delivered. This engine provides a more scalable and efficient framework compared to the earlier extracts engine, especially for organizations that process large volumes of data or use complex extract definitions.
Enhanced extracts aren’t enabled by default. You must explicitly enable the feature and upgrade existing extract definitions before you can use the new engine. After upgrading, the extract runs entirely on the enhanced processing framework, which introduces changes in performance behavior, delivery handling, and supported design patterns.
The enhanced extracts framework also standardizes processing across supported extract types. This consistency reduces variation in extract behavior and simplifies long-term maintenance. It improves processing performance by enabling multi-threaded preprocessing. This allows the system to process large datasets more efficiently and reduces execution time for extracts that use complex selection criteria.
They also support scalable output processing. Large extract outputs can be split into smaller chunks, which improves delivery reliability and prevents failures caused by file size limitations.
In addition, the enhanced extracts engine standardizes processing behavior across supported extract types. This ensures consistent execution and reduces differences in how extracts behave across implementations.
Enhanced extracts provide improved delivery capabilities, including better integration with BI Publisher and downstream systems such as FTP servers and data loading interfaces.
Supported Extract Types
- Benefits Carrier extracts
- HR Archive extracts
- Other Payroll Archive extracts
- Payroll Interface extracts
- Full Profile extracts
- Recruitment Archive extracts
Before upgrading individual extracts, you must enable enhanced extracts for the required extract type using extract configuration groups.
