How do I configure payroll interface properties?
The Global Payroll Interface comes with a number of additional functionalities to enhance and make the integration with payroll systems robust.
Start on the Home page.
These functionalities require some additional configurations. Values and attributes that are used in these configurations are called properties.
Click My Client Groups.
Click Data Exchange.
Click Configure Payroll Interface Properties.
In the Global Payroll Interface row, click the Actions icon and select Edit.
The supported interface templates are listed here. Use the Global Payroll Interface template as the basis for specialized configurations. Use this list of properties to capture configurations for additional functionalities for the payroll interface feature. The properties are on 3 levels – enterprise, Legislative Data Group, and Payroll levels. If the LDG and Payroll are not selected, the properties are at the enterprise level, which means that all LDGs and payrolls within the enterprise are covered by this property configuration. Selecting an LDG overrides enterprise properties, and selecting Payroll overrides both enterprise and LDG properties.
In the Enable Global Transfer Offset Override Value field, enter Yes.
For example, if you want to extend the reporting of the termination record for a global transfer, you can use this property to enable that feature.
In the End Date Offset field, enter +7.
In the Start Date Offset field, enter -14.
When you’re submitting regular payroll interfaces automatically based on schedules, you can ensure that the start date and end date of the interface process parameters are incremented automatically as the extraction window slides forward. For example, if you prefer the start date to be 14 days in the past and end date to be 7 days in the future with respect to the submission date for every extraction, you can use these properties.
Click Submit.
After you’ve selected the properties you need, click Submit. Again, because no LDGs or Payrolls were selected, this will be committed at the enterprise level.
In the Global Payroll Interface row, click the Actions icon and select Edit.
Now any interface you generate out of the Global Payroll Interface template and run for this particular enterprise will now automatically include these offsets. If you need to make a country-specific payroll that includes different offsets, you can select a specific LDG and edit the offsets as needed.
Click the Legislative Data Group drop-down and select CA Legislative Data Group.
In the End Date Offset field, enter +2.
In the Start Date Offset field, enter -7.
Click Submit.
Then when the interface is run for this particular country, these new offsets will be automatically included.
In the Global Payroll Interface row, click the Actions icon and select Edit.
You can also change the offsets and properties for a specific payroll within the same LDG.
Click the Legislative Data Group drop-down and select CA Legislative Data Group.
Click the Payroll drop-down and select CA Monthly Payroll.
In the End Date Offset field, enter +12.
In the Start Date Offset field, enter -10.
Click Submit.
Then when the interface is generated and run for this specific payroll for this particular country, these new offsets will be automatically included. The override functionality at the 3 levels – enterprise, LDG, and payroll, is common across all the properties. Again, any override at the payroll level will take the highest precedence, followed by LDG overrides, then overrides at the enterprise level. Thanks for watching.
