How do I translate autocomplete rule messages?
Hello, my name is Ken. In this video, I’ll explain how to translate autocomplete messages.
You can manually translate warning and error messages that you’ve created in your autocomplete rules in all Oracle supported languages. Use only one language when implementing and maintaining messages; otherwise, the translation will be overwritten. If the rule is edited in another language and saved while the message is already translated, then the message is overwritten and the translation will be lost.
Messages in the delivered autocomplete rules have already been translated. If you copy a delivered rule and change the message, you’ll need to manually translate it if you want it to appear in multiple languages. You can use the User Interface Text configuration tool to translate strings. You can learn more about translation and the User Interface Text tool in the Configuring and Extending Application guide.
Install all languages you want to translate to prior to translating. In the Find field, enter the message in the language you created it in.
In the Replace field, you enter the translated version of the message.
In the Language field, you select the language you are translating the message to. Remember, this is a manual process, so if you make changes to the message after it is translated, you will need to translate the message again.
This concludes the explanation of autocomplete rules message translation.
