Work with Clusters

Let's understand how you can improve operational efficiency by linking multiple accounts into clusters.

What's a Cluster?

Clusters help you organize your accounts into segments based on various attributes such as products, demographics, and more. Using clusters, you can manage your product assortment plans, business objectives, contract templates, and promotion programs efficiently.

As a Marketing Manager, you can create, publish, analyze, and revise clusters. Let's understand how clusters can help you:

  • Organize the stores into various segments and categories.

  • Operate with speed and efficiency at various product, customer, and location levels.

  • Improve large-scale retail operations across geographies and markets.

  • Plan better downstream assortment planning, business objectives, print templates, promotion programs, and contracts.

Before You Start

Ensure you complete the following steps before getting started with clusters:

  • Create the required users and assign role security. For more information, see Setting Up Role Security for All Objects from Getting Started guide.

  • Create profile option. For more information, see Configuring Profile Options section.

  • Activate the page layouts. For more information, see Activating Layouts for Objects section from Getting Started guide.

Create Clusters

To create a cluster, perform the following steps:

  1. On the springboard, click Clusters > Create.

  2. Specify cluster name and click save and continue.

  3. Go to Accounts subtab and click Search and Add accounts.

  4. Select one or more accounts and click Save to add accounts to cluster.

    Accounts are now added to cluster.

  5. Go to the clusters list page.

  6. Click Clusters > Active .

  7. Click Save and Close.

    The cluster is now active and available for associating with other downstream activities. The cluster must be in active status and not in draft status because certain options such as publishing merchandising location plan are not available for a cluster in draft status.

Associate Clusters

You can perform similar steps to associate clusters with the following downstream activities:

  • Business objectives

  • Assortment plans

  • Promotion programs

  • Print Templates

  • Contracts

  • Contract templates

Here's an example of how you can associate the cluster with a promotion program:

  1. On the springboard, click a Promotion Programs from the list.

  2. Go to Clusters subtab and click Search and Add .

  3. Select a cluster and click Save to add cluster to the promotion program.

    Cluster is now associated with promotion program.

Delete a Cluster

To delete the cluster, perform the following steps:

  1. Sign in as marketing manger.

  2. On the springboard, click Clusters.

  3. Go to the cluster you want to delete.

  4. Click Actions > Delete.

    Your cluster is now deleted.
