Specify the Language In a Web Service Connector
Similar to Region, Language is set in the policy model and comes through in GetMetadata, Load and Save requests in the language attribute. This is important information for the connector if it is responsible for returning different string values for fields which were described by the metadata as STRING data types.
The inclusion of language in a GetMetadata request means that the description attributes of Table, Field and Link can provide an alternate description of those elements to the user in Policy Modeling. The description values do not replace the use of name in any subsequent load and save requests.
The following example shows a GetMetadata request using a Spanish language project, "es-ES":
<get-metadata-request language="es-ES" timezone="Etc/GMT"/>
The following example shows a load request with the language "en-US":
<load-request root="Vehicles" region="en-US" language="en-US" timezone="Etc/GMT">
The following example shows a save request with the language "fr-FR":
<save-request root="Car Request" region="en-US" language="fr-FR" timezone="Etc/GMT">
If the connector is aware that the interview is run in a different language, a field representing a label may display differently depending on the language. For example, the field 'Explanation' in the following example has different text value for "en-US" and "es-ES":
For "en-US":
<field name="Explanation">
<text-val>The client needs a new toothbrush</text-val>
</field>
For "es-ES":
<field name="Explanation">
<text-val>El cliente necesita un nuevo cepillo de dientes</text-val>
</field>
