Specify the Time Zone In a Web Service Connector

The policy model specifies what time zone the interview is considered to run in. This means that a user of the interview will enter a date and time into a datetime attribute and the precise moment in time is recorded for the time zone which the policy model uses. It also means that if datetime values are loaded in via a connector that the datetime must be first adjusted to match the time zone that the interview is using. Conversion of datetime values between time zones is the responsibility of the connector.

Both Save and Load requests will include the time zone which the interview is using, and all values returned via Load and Save (Load after submit attributes) must have that same time zone in the format for the datetime-val.

For example, for:

<load-request root="Vehicles" region="en-US" language="en-US" timezone="Etc/GMT">

Any loaded datetime fields must have the offset value for this time zone:

<field name="Birthday”
    <datetime-val>2014-07-25T21:45:30+00:00</datetime-val>
</field>

Note that the datetime format for datetime-val must not include a millisecond value. If using Java, the millisecond value can be removed from a XMLGregorianCalendar object by the function .setFractionSecond(null);.
