Remove an Entity

You may from time to time want to remove an entity that is not used or is no longer needed. To remove an entity:

  1. On the Data tab in the Entity Structure view, select the entity that you want to remove.
  2. Click Delete Entity.
  3. Click OK when asked to confirm the deletion.

If there were attributes using the entity that has been deleted, the resultant entity of those attributes is:

  • automatically determined if the attribute was previously assigned to the entity automatically, or
  • assigned to the parent entity if the attribute had its entity overridden.

Note that when you delete a mapped entity, the mix of attributes means you may end up with different entity assignments for the attributes.

You should check the entity assignment of attributes for the deleted entity to ensure that it is what you intended.

Tip: You can change the entity for an attribute in the Edit Attribute dialog. (The Edit Attribute dialog can be accessed by clicking the Edit Attribute button for the selected attribute in the Entity Structure view or Flat View on the Data tab.)
