Overview of Explanations
An explanation is a structured list of reasons about how the value of the goal attribute was determined. It can be added to an interview or a form to give the reasons for a particular decision. The value of every input and intermediate attribute relevant to the final outcome is, by default, displayed in the explanation. Explanations can be tailored to improve readability and to make sure the logic in the rules presents sensibly to a user.
Tip: Explanations are used in the Copyright Permissions, DMV Document Guide, Know Your Customer, Loan Advisor, myBenefits, My Store App, Patient Safety Incidents, Retail Discounts and Travel Compensation example policy models that installed with Policy Modeling.
While tailored explanations are suitable for customers and agents, auditors may need to see how the rules were used in each case. Detailed audit reports can be enabled for this purpose.
Note: For interviews that use decision services, all attributes will be included in an explanation because decision services do not support relevance.
