Create a Form In a Different Language

Forms in an interview can be generated in different languages. To do this:

  1. Create the form in the primary language of the policy model. To do this, follow the steps in Overview of Forms.
  2. Manually create a new folder for the locale of the different language in the /FormTemplates folder for the project. For example, /FormTemplates/pt-BR for a Brazilian Portuguese form. For more information on the locale setting, see Locale Codes.
  3. Copy the template file for the form in the primary language (created in step 1) into the folder for the different language (created in step 2). For example, copy the Form_Template.rtf in the /FormTemplates/en-US folder into the /FormTemplates/pt-BR for the project. Note that the form templates in that folder cannot be renamed and must have identical names to the templates in the main project to work.
  4. Translate the form template in the folder for the different language into the other language.

When you then run an interview in that language, the forms for that locale will automatically be used. For more information, see Debug a Translation of a Policy Model and Run a Translation of a Policy Model.

Note: You will not see the template files created for additional locales in the Forms subtab on the Project tab in Policy Modeling
