Specify the Output Format of the Uploaded Form

Uploaded forms, by default, are saved in PDF format. You can change the output format of an uploaded form. Forms that are generated from RTF templates can be saved as Excel, HTML, PDF, RTF or XML files, whereas forms that are generated from PDF templates can only be saved as PDF or XML files.

A single form template can be generated in different formats and both formats attached to the same entity. For example, you could attach Decision Letter.pdf to the global entity and Decision Letter.rtf (generated from the same template) to the Global entity.

To change the output format of the uploaded form:

  1. Follow the steps for enabling the uploading of a form.
  2. In the Attachments drop-down window for the selected form, click the Output Format field.
  3. Select from the drop-down list to specify which format the form will be saved in. The options are:
    • for RTF form templates: Excel 97-2003 (.xls), Excel (.xlsx), HTML, PDF, RTF (rich text format) or XML
    • for PDF form templates: PDF or XML
