Administrator-level permission is required to install Policy Modeling 12. During installation, components must be registered that allow Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel to communicate with Policy Modeling. User Account Control may request elevated permissions before starting the installation.

User-level permissions are required when using Policy Modeling.

No additional network access is required for Policy Modeling to author and test policies locally, including using an internally hosted Intelligent Advisor Hub. If Policy Modeling needs to interact with an externally hosted Intelligent Advisor Hub, it may be necessary for network administrators to add firewall exceptions. For example, if the Hub is hosted in the Oracle Cloud, then access to the *.custhelp.com domain over port 443 will typically be required, as well as any vanity URLs that are being used.
