Open an Existing Project
To open an existing project in Policy Modeling:
- In Policy Modeling on the Project tab, click the Open Project button.
- In the drop-down window, either:
- Click the name of the project, or
- Click the Other button to browse to the project's location. When you have located the project, double-click the project file (.xprj).
The project will open in Policy Modeling.
Tip: There are two other ways to open a project. You can double-click on an existing project file (.xprj) in Windows Explorer to open the project in Policy Modeling. Or you can drag and drop an existing project file (.xprj) from Windows Explorer into Policy Modeling.
If the project was created in an earlier version of Policy Modeling:
- and the project is associated with a Hub, you will typically be prompted to upgrade it.
- and the project is not associated with a Hub, it will open in the version of Policy Modeling in which it was created. If the version it was created with is not available, it will open in the next available version. If that version of Policy Modeling has a different component version, you will be prompted to upgrade the project.
For more information, see Upgrade a Project.
You can locate a project in Windows Explorer from within Policy Modeling.
- On the Project tab, select the Summary subtab.
- Select the Open project folder button. A new Windows Explorer window will be opened showing the root folder for the project.
