Create data source

The Create Data Source step in creating a table is where you enter the name of the table, specify whether the table is used as a lookup table, and complete other table-specific fields.

To enter the data source information:

  1. Enter the name for the new table.
  2. To use the table as a lookup table, select the Is this a lookup table checkbox.

A lookup table contains data that describe events or transactions. For example, a sales order table contains a product ID that points to a product information table. The product information table in this example is a lookup table.

A lookup table's fields appear under other tables to which it is joined.
