Targeting my campaign to certain visitors
You can target your campaign to a specific segment of your traffic by using standard and custom attributes. For example, you want to test a new banner only for logged in visitors. Rather than creating a segment rule and having logged out visitors enter the campaign data, we can create a campaign rule so that our campaign is only served to visitors where Logged In is Yes.
Create a campaign rule which limits the audience to only visitors who are logged in:
- In the list of custom attributes on the Targeting tab, drag in the Logged In attribute to the Campaign Rule section.
- In the list of attribute values, select Yes, then click Done.
If you decide to exclude a specific group of visitors from your campaign, click the IS operator to change it to IS NOT.
Visitors who don't meet the rules that you have specified are not included in the campaign and see the default page.
