Mobile App Reporting is available in Responsys through the Mobile Apps Interactive Dashboards.

About the Integrated Metrics

Sent: Displays the total number of messages sent through a specific campaign in Responsys. Users can also provide a date range to filter the total number of messages sent over a period of time.

Delivered Rate: Displays the number of messages delivered divided by total pushes sent, expressed as a percentage. To calculate the number of messages that were delivered to the app, we subtract the undelivered messages (that is, those reported by the platform providers as bounced) from the total number of sent messages.

Open Rate: Displays the number of opens (messages that resulted in the user opening or navigating to the app) divided by the number delivered, expressed as a percentage. For In-App messages, the marketer must enable "Track In-app Opens" in the In-App Message campaign workbook. Turning open tracking on for the campaign enables Responsys to track the number of times the In-App message is displayed.

Active Rate: Push campaigns only. Displays the number of recipients that had the app open and in the foreground when the Push notification was delivered divided by the total number delivered, expressed as a percentage.

Conversion Rate: Push campaigns only. Displays push conversion metrics; that is, other actions that happen in the mobile app based on the push notification. The Conversion metric is the sum of the following, but in individual campaign dashboards, you can view the number of each type of conversion.

Click-through rate: In-App and Rich Push only. Displays the number of clicks divided by the number of delivered messages, expressed as a percentage. When the Marketer enables link tracking for an In-App or Rich Push HTML message, a "click" is counted when the user clicks the tracked link in an In-App Message or Rich Push content.

Skipped: Displays the total number of messages that were skipped in the campaign launch. Messages are skipped when they cannot be personalized.

Bounced: Displays the total number of bounces. This includes both hard and soft bounces. "Soft" bounces can occur due to many reasons: message payload issues, incorrect FCM or APNs credentials, Google or Apple server errors, and the like. "Hard" bounces result from the device user having uninstalled the app.

Responsys detects app uninstalls through hard bounces. This may affect campaign reporting. Marketers may observe a spike in bounces for some campaigns. When there is a long interval between campaign launches, there is more time for app uninstalls to occur, which leads to more hard bounce errors. Marketers may view the App Uninstall report to see how hard bounces may have affected the total bounce rate.

Failed: Displays the number of messages that failed the campaign launch. For Android, failed messages result in a blocked Responsys Program. For iOS, failed messages are those that are not sent; the messages are sent asynchronously and therefore the messages do not block the Responsys Programs.


Using Mobile App Channel Interactive Dashboards

Responsys users with the "Mobile Apps Analytics Manager" role can view a performance summary of Push notifications. Using the Mobile Apps Interactive Dashboards, they can:

NOTE: It takes up to 24 hours from the generation of the event for it to show up on Interactive Dashboards. For example, if an open event occurred at 5:00 PM Pacific Time on January 1st, the open event should be counted in Interactive Dashboards by 5:00 PM Pacific Time on January 2nd.
