Test Messages

Real Recipients Received Test Messages

  • For single-campaign launches – do one of the following.
    1. Use the Test Launch command.
    2. Launch to a test distribution list.
  • For split-run launches – enter one or more test target email addresses during the campaign launch sequence. Otherwise, it's a regular launch, so be sure you launch to a test distribution list.

Test Messages Never Showed Up

There are several possibilities:

  • You mistyped the test target email address. As an alternative, use a test distribution list for testing campaigns.
  • Your distribution list is empty. Even in test mode, your distribution list needs to have at least one valid record to launch a campaign .
  • All your test target email addresses (or all addresses in your test distribution list) are in one of the suppression lists for the campaigns being tested. If you've previously run a campaign that included the target email address, and you're now using the #Sent table as a suppression list, Oracle Responsys suppresses any email aimed at the target address.

I Received All Campaign Messages During Test

You probably overlooked limiting the number of campaign recipients.

You need to select the Set Limit option and supply a number in the corresponding text box.

If you don't do both, the campaign sends out messages for every recipient on the distribution list. If you're running in test mode with your address entered as the target, you'll receive every message that was sent.
