Unlock an accounting period

Unlock a locked accounting period from Menu > Accounting > Accounting periods when posting must resume in that period. The action returns the period to Open status so that eligible transactions can post to it again.

Before you begin

You need permission to manage accounting periods. Unlocking a period also opens later locked periods through the latest locked period.

Unlock an accounting period

1. Select Menu, then select Accounting > Accounting periods.
2. Open Record actions for the locked period and select Unlock. You can also open the period and select More actions > Unlock.
3. Confirm the action when prompted.

The affected periods show Open status.
