Item import details

Use item import to create or update the products and services that your company buys or sells. Products represent physical or virtual items, while services represent work provided to customers or received from other companies; import both before importing sales price rules and their entries.

• Products are physical or virtual items that can be purchased or sold.

• Services are services provided to customers or received from other companies.

The import for both types of items is similar.

When importing items from third-party systems, sale price rules are often migrated into QuickStart as well. Items and sale price rules must be imported into QuickStart in a specific order:

1. First, import product and service items. QuickStart creates internal IDs for the imported items. For more information, see Product import details or Service import details.

2. Next, import sales price rules. QuickStart creates internal IDs that you can use to associate rule entries with the rules.

3. Finally, import sales price rule entries using the item and sales price rule internal IDs.
