Submit, approve, or reject a vendor bill
Submit a draft vendor bill when it is ready to enter the approval workflow. The available actions depend on the bill’s status and your approval access. Open the draft vendor bill.
Before you begin
To submit a bill, you need a draft vendor bill. To approve or reject it, you need a pending-approval vendor bill and approval access. See Create a vendor bill.
Submit a vendor bill
-
Open the draft vendor bill.
-
Review the vendor, lines, total, posting period, and accounts payable account.
-
Select Submit.
If approval is required, the bill changes to Pending approval and does not post. If approval is not required, the bill changes to Open and posts.
Approve or reject a vendor bill
-
Open a pending-approval vendor bill.
-
Select Approve or Reject.
An approved bill becomes open and posts to the general ledger. A rejected bill does not post. When available, Withdraw approval returns a pending or rejected bill to an editable state.
You can also select eligible rows on the Vendor bills list and use the bulk Submit, Approve, or Reject action.
After a bill enters the approval workflow, its terms are read-only.
