Apply or unapply a vendor credit
Apply a posting vendor credit to reduce the amount due on an eligible vendor bill. Unapply it when the credit must be reassigned or made available again. Open Menu and select Payables > Vendor credits.
Before you begin
You need a posting vendor credit with an unapplied amount and an eligible open vendor bill for the same vendor. See Create a vendor credit and Create a vendor bill.
Apply a vendor credit
-
Open Menu and select Payables > Vendor credits.
-
Open an unapplied or partially applied credit.
-
Select Apply.
-
Under Applied transactions, select Select transactions.
-
Select the eligible vendor bill and adjust the Applied amount when needed.
-
Select Apply in the dialog.
-
Select Submit.
The credit’s unapplied amount and the bill’s amount due decrease. A partial application leaves both records available for another application; applying the full amount changes the credit to Fully applied.
Unapply a vendor credit
-
Open the applied or partially applied vendor credit.
-
Select More actions > Unapply.
-
Confirm the action.
The credit becomes available again and the corresponding amount due is restored on the vendor bill.
Unapply removes all applications from the vendor credit. You cannot unapply a credit that is applied on a nonvoided vendor payment. You also cannot unapply a credit when the general ledger impact of an affected application belongs to a closed accounting period.
