Link a bank account for Payment Automation
During Payment Automation onboarding, use Link Your Bank Account to connect an existing bank account through Plaid. In the onboarding process, open Link Your Bank Account.
Before you begin
For every BILL bank account that you will link, make sure that a different active, non-summary QuickStart account of type Bank accounts is available. If you need another GL bank account, see Create an account.
Link the account
-
In the onboarding process, open Link Your Bank Account.
-
Complete the bank-account connection in the embedded BILL experience.
-
After BILL reports that onboarding is complete, review the returned bank-account information:
- Bank Name
- Type
- Holder Name
- Account Number
- Routing Number
-
For each BILL bank account, select a different QuickStart account in GL Bank Account. An account that is already selected for another BILL bank account is not available for reuse.
-
After every BILL bank account has a GL Bank Account, continue to the payment-run approval-routing step.
QuickStart saves the BILL-to-GL bank-account mappings when you continue. If any BILL bank account is not mapped, QuickStart displays Link every BILL bank account and does not continue. If the mappings cannot be saved, QuickStart displays Unable to save bank account links and you remain on the page so that you can try again.
Only active, non-summary QuickStart accounts with the Bank accounts type are offered as GL bank accounts.
