Set up an authenticator app and backup codes when QuickStart prompts you during sign-in. On the Add more security with two-factor authentication screen, select Set up 2FA.
Before you begin
- Install an authenticator app that supports OATH TOTP on a device that you control. Oracle Mobile Authenticator and Google Authenticator are examples.
- Be ready to store the backup codes in a secure location.
Steps
- On the Add more security with two-factor authentication screen, select Set up 2FA.
- On Set up an authenticator app on your phone, review the supported app information and select Add QuickStart to your app.
-
In the authenticator app, scan the QR code displayed by QuickStart.
If you cannot scan the QR code, select Try a setup key instead and enter the displayed key in the app.
- Enter the 6-digit code generated by the app in Code, and then select Next.
- On Authenticator app set up, select Get my backup codes.
- Securely store the displayed backup codes. You can select Copy Codes to copy them.
- Select I’ve stored these codes, and then select Next.
- On Setup finished, select Enter QuickStart.
Result
The authenticator app and backup codes are configured. QuickStart can request a code from the app or an unused backup code during a later sign-in.
