Assign a customer as a parent customer

Assign an existing customer as the parent of a company customer to add that company to a customer hierarchy. Open Menu, and then select Sales > Customers.

Before you begin

Create both company customer records. An individual customer cannot be used as a child company.

To assign a parent customer

1. Open Menu, and then select Sales > Customers.
2. Select the company that will become the child.
3. Select Edit.
4. In Parent customer, select the existing parent customer.
5. Review the inherited customer information.
6. Select Update.

QuickStart displays the parent relationship on the child customer and includes the child in the parent’s hierarchy.
