Delete an existing segment
Delete a segment that was created in error and is safe to remove permanently. Open Menu > Administration > Customization > Segments. If the segment is in use or must remain on historical records, set it as inactive instead.
Before you begin

You need the Administrator access profile or the Customization: create fields and segments permission set.

Confirm that the segment is unused. A segment applied to transaction headers or lines that affect the general ledger cannot be deleted. Retaining the segment keeps historical records intact.
Delete a segment

Open Menu > Administration > Customization > Segments.

Find the segment, open its row action menu, and select Delete.

Review the affected values and records shown in the delete drawer, and then select Delete.

In the confirmation dialog, select Delete.
QuickStart permanently deletes the segment and its related segment data. This action cannot be undone.
