Usage Notes
You can import job assignment records from third-party systems using the processes detailed in Import a file.
In the QuickStart UI, under Administration, go to Tools > Bring your data to QuickStart.
You can use the file import function for job assignment records to create new job assignment records or update existing job assignment records.
In QuickStart, you can use external IDs to import new job assignment records. External IDs are assigned to each record in the external ID field and are a unique combination of numbers and letters.
You can use both external IDs and internal IDs to update existing job assignment records. Internal IDs are automatically assigned to records.
The file import for the person record will fail if validation for the following fields isn’t met:
- Person: the person can’t be their own supervisor.
- The Company Start Date and Company Termination Date must be in MM/DD/YYYY format.
- The Company Start Date must be before the Company Termination Date.
Note:
If you import other records in the same file that have met the validations, they will be imported successfully. You can see the status and details for each record in the import result file.
To ensure fields with dropdowns are configured correctly, you can configure the ID or the name of the field. The two fields with dropdowns are Status and Type. For example, if you want to change the Status field from ID to name, you can change it from “active” to “Active”. To enter the name, change “:id” to “name” on the column header.
The following options are available for the Status dropdown field with their corresponding IDs and names:
-
active: Active
-
terminated: Terminated
The following options are available for the Type dropdown field with their corresponding IDs and names:
-
contingent: Contingent
-
permanent: Permanent
-
non_worker: Non-Worker
-
contractor: Contractor
Note:
You must know the internal IDs for the job and person records to successfully import job assignments.
