Authenticating Web Services

In environments that are enabled for single sign-on, the Oracle Analytics Publisher web services use OAuth authentication.

OAuth Authentication

OAuth authentication enables a client application to receive an access token from Oracle Identity Cloud Service, Identity Provider and Authorization server to access secured resources without using username and password credentials. See Configure OAuth to Access Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications.

Note:

The Oracle Analytics Publisher SOAP web services in Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications support OAuth authentication using access tokens obtained through the JWT User Assertion grant type. This flow obtains an access token on behalf of an Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications user who has permission to access the requested Oracle Analytics Publisher resources.
BI Administrator must enable OAuth authentication for Oracle Analytics Publisher SOAP web services. See Enable OAuth for SOAP Web Services.

After you get the bearer token, send the token in the header of the web service as follows:

  • Header key - Authorization.
  • Header value - Bearer <token>. For example, Bearer eibcccundbccikehkenekhnbhihdctbfnhjinbubgkti.
