Manage Job Roles

Use the Cloud ERP Manage Job Roles task in the Users and Security functional area to create user-defined roles in addition to the predefined roles with the required roles and privileges for assignment to users.

To create user-defined roles, complete these steps:

  1. Log in to Functional Setup Manager (FSM).
  2. In the Setup and Maintenance work area, go to the Manage Job Roles task:
    • Offering: Financials
    • Functional Area: Users and Security
    • Task: Manage Job Roles

      You can also use this navigation: Navigator > My Enterprise > Setup and Maintenance > Tasks panel tab > Search > Manage Job Roles.

  3. On the Roles page, click Create Role.
  4. On the Create Role: Basic Information page, complete the following fields and click Next to create a new role for Financials:
    1. Enter an appropriate role name and role code.
    2. Select Financials - Job Roles in the Role Category field.
    3. Select Enable Permission Groups. This step allows you to assign related permission groups to this role and is used to drill through to source data.
  5. On the Enable Permission Groups page, select Enable Permission Groups.
  6. Navigate to Permission Groups and select + Add Permission Groups.
  7. On the Add Permission Groups dialog box, search for a permission group and select Add Selected Permission Groups to add it to the role and close the dialog box. For the list of permission groups, see the related topics.
  8. Once the permission group is assigned, select the group and assign the MDALegalEntityRowsUnrestrictedFields security view.
  9. Once you have added the security view for one permission group, follow the same process for the other groups.
  10. Add function security policies and click Next.
  11. Add data security policies and click Next.
  12. Add the role hierarchy and click Next.
  13. Navigate to Users to assign a user to this role.
  14. On the Create Role: Users page, select + Add User.
  15. On the Add User dialog box, search for the user you want to assign this role to and select Add User to Role and close the dialog box.
  16. Once the user is assigned, navigate to Summary and select Save & Close.
  17. Click OK.
