Closing Open Models

When you close an open model, you can either check in the model to save changes or discard the changes.

To close a model:

  1. With a Strategic Modeling model open in Excel, select Close in the Strategic Modeling ribbon.

  2. In Close Model select an option:

    • Check-in–Check in an open model that you previously checked out.

    • Discard–Discard changes and close the model.

    • Cancel–Close the Close Model dialog box.

  3. Click OK.

    Note:

    Sometimes, when a Strategic Modeling model takes a long time to calculate or check in, Excel displays a popup message, "Microsoft Excel is waiting for another application to complete an OLE action." This is expected behavior from Excel when an add in is taking a long time to complete an action. After Strategic Modeling completes its process, close the Excel message.
