Converting Models and Reports from Strategic Finance to Strategic Modeling

You can convert models and reports from the on premise version of Oracle Hyperion Strategic Finance to Strategic Modeling for use in Oracle Smart View for Office and you can upload them for use in Strategic Modeling on the Web.
To convert a model and reports:
  1. In Smart View, connect to the Strategic Modeling data source.
  2. Click the Strategic Modeling tab, select Open, and browse to the Strategic Finance model (.alc file), select it, and then click Open.
    The model is converted and opened in Smart View.

    To convert reports from Strategic Finance to Strategic Modeling, in the Strategic Modeling ribbon, select Report List, and then click OK. The reports are converted and opened in Smart View.

  3. On the Strategic Modeling tab, click Save.
    In order to upload a model, you need to save it locally with a unique name.
  4. To upload the model and reports and make them available on Cloud: In Smart View pane, right-click Models, and then select New Model.
    The Create New Model on Server dialog is displayed.
  5. In Copy Model From, select Local Model.
  6. In Source Model Templates, browse and select a model or a template.
  7. In New Model Name, enter a unique name for the model.
  8. Optional: Select Keep Source Model's Data to allow the new model to inherit all data from the source model. If you do not select this option, the new model inherits only the account and time period structure.
  9. Optional: Select Place At Root to store models at the root level. This option is used for standalone models and model structure parents only. If you do not select this option, then the model is placed as the child of another model which you select.
  10. Click OK.
    The next time you log in to your service instance, the model and any reports you updated are available.
