Configuring a Strategic Modeling Connection

After installing Oracle Smart View for Office and Strategic Modeling extension, set up a private connection to a service instance.

To configure a Strategic Modeling connection in Smart View:

  1. Launch Microsoft Excel.
  2. Click Smart View, and then click Panel.
  3. In Smart View Home, click Private Connections, and then select Create new connection.
  4. Select Strategic Planning Provider as the new connection provider type.
  5. In Add Connection - URL, enter a URL similar to the following:

    Strategic Modeling: http(s)://serviceURL/HyperionPlanning/SmartView

    For example, http(s)://test-cloud-pln.pbcs.us1.oraclecloud.com/HyperionPlanning/SmartView

  6. Click Next.
  7. Sign into your service instance.
    1. In Enter your Identity Domain, enter identity domain and then click Go.
    2. Enter your user name and Password, and then click Sign In.
  8. In Add Connection –- Application/Cube, expand Servers, and then select an application or cube.
  9. In Add Connect - Name/Description, enter a connection name and description, and then click Finish.
  10. Select the application that you want to the connection, and then click Finish.
  11. In Shared Connections URL, enter your service URL; for example:
    https://test-cloud-pln.pbcs.us1.oraclecloud.com/workspace/SmartViewProviders

    Note:

    You may also configure a private connection using a service URL such as the following:

    https://test-cloud-pln.pbcs.us1.oraclecloud.com/HyperionPlanning/SmartView

  12. Click OK.
