Migration Paths for Legacy EPM Cloud Snapshots
Legacy snapshot refers to a snapshot taken from an Oracle Enterprise Performance Management Cloud environment that is not an EPM Standard Cloud Service or EPM Enterprise Cloud Service environment. By default, these environments are configured with an Oracle Essbase version that does not support hybrid cubes (referred to as Non-hybrid Essbase).
Because the following legacy environments allow you to enable Hybrid BSO cubes, they may already be configured with an Essbase version that supports hybrid cubes (referred to as Hybrid Essbase).
- Enterprise Planning and Budgeting Cloud
- Planning and Budgeting Cloud with Plus One option
See About Essbase in EPM Cloud in Getting Started with Oracle Enterprise Performance Management Cloud for Administrators for detailed information on Essbase use in EPM Cloud.
For legacy environments, a self-service operation using the recreate
EPM Automate Utility command is available to upgrade
Non-Hybrid Essbase to Hybrid Essbase. After upgrading Essbase, you can enable Hybrid BSO cubes
in Enterprise Planning and Budgeting Cloud.
Note:
You can upgrade legacy Planning and Budgeting Cloud environments to use Hybrid Essbase. However, you cannot enable the use of Hybrid BSO cubes in these environments.Table 3-1 Migration Scenarios for Legacy EPM Cloud Snapshots
