Dashboard Components

You can add up to 12 components to the dashboard workspace.

When you hover over a component in the workspace, a toolbar for that component displays in the upper right corner:

Icon Description

instructions hover icon

Instructions: Displays instructions for the form associated with the dashboard component (only available if the form designer added instructions to the form)

save hover icon

Save: Saves any changed data and runs any rules associated with the dashboard component

refresh hover icon

Refresh: Refreshes the data associated with the dashboard component

chart type hover icon

Chart Type: Changes the chart type associated with the dashboard component

actions hover icon

Actions menu:

  • Maximize: Enlarges the dashboard component. Once maximized, click Restore to minimize the dashboard component to its original size.

    Note: The Maximize option only enlarges the dashboard component. If the dashboard component is a grid and you want to perform grid actions on the component such as Adjust, Grid Spread, Comment, and so on, select Open Form (in the Actions menu) to open the underlying form associated with the component. The form will open in a dynamic tab next to the current tab.

  • Rules & Smart Push: Lists any rules associated with the form. Click the rules to launch them. Analyze data coming from different cubes with Smart Push.

  • Analyze: Perform ad hoc analysis on a form. This menu option only displays if the chart type is a grid and if the data source is a form.

  • Open in Smart View: Work with a form in Oracle Smart View for Office. This menu option only displays if the chart type is a grid and if the data source is a form. See Opening Forms and Ad Hoc Grids from Web Applications in Smart View for Office User's Guide 23.100.

  • Spreadsheet Export: Export data from a form to Microsoft Excel so you can explore "what-if" scenarios in Excel before copying and pasting values back to your business process. This menu option only displays if the chart type is a grid and if the data source is a form.

  • Open Form: Opens the runtime form associated with the dashboard component in a dynamic tab next to the current tab

  • Edit Form: If you have the correct permissions, opens the form associated with the dashboard component in the forms editor. The forms editor opens in a dynamic tab next to the current tab.

  • Show Details: Displays the underlying form details, including the form name, the folder path of the form, and the cube
