Working with Intelligent Performance Management in Planning
Planning provides Intelligent Performance Management—IPM—integrated directly in your applications to inform your planning decisions with predictive capabilities and accelerate insight discovery with financial pattern recognition.
Learn more about working with IPM:
- Advanced Predictions enable you to use machine learning algorithms to
generate predictions, to improve your forecasting accuracy. See Using Advanced Predictions to Improve Your Forecasting.
You can also work with Advanced Predictions in Oracle Smart View for Office. For more information, see Using Advanced Predictions in Smart View.
Supported for FreeForm and Planning.
- Predictive Planning enables you to
jumpstart your planning process and improves the accuracy of your forecasts with
powerful predictive capabilities available directly in forms and ad hoc grids. See
Improving Forecasting Accuracy with Predictive Planning.
Supported for FreeForm and Planning.
- IPM Insights reduces time spent in data analysis with financial pattern
recognition that offers insights to planners, which they can evaluate and take
action on. See Using IPM to Inform Your Decision-Making.
You can also work with IPM Insights in Smart View. For more information, see Using IPM Insights in Smart View.
Supported for Enterprise Profitability and Cost Management, Financial Consolidation and Close, FreeForm, Planning, and Tax Reporting.
- Monte Carlo simulations in Strategic Modeling are used to
randomly generate a range of values for assumptions that you define.
After you've defined input cells as assumptions and output cells as forecasts, you run a simulation. Strategic Modeling uses Monte Carlo simulation, which uses random numbers to measure the effects of uncertainty in a model. See Working With Strategic Modeling.
