Assign a User to a Business Unit That Supports Requisitioning

Requesters sometimes see this error in the Requisitions work area.

You aren't assigned to a business unit that supports requisitioning. Please contact your help desk. (POR-2010674)

When you contact your help desk, share this info: In the Setup and Maintenance work area, go to the Manage Business Unit Data Access for Users task. Use this task to give the user access to an active business unit that supports requisitioning.

To fix this error, you must be assigned a role to manage data access for users. You need to identify an active business unit that supports requisitioning, and then assign the user to it.

Here's how to check that a business unit is configured for requisitioning:

  1. In the Setup and Maintenance work area, select:

    • Procurement offering

    • Organization Structures functional area

    • Manage Business Unit task

  2. On the Manage Business Units page, search for the business unit. Check that the Active setting is selected.

  3. Select the row that contains the business unit. From the Actions menu, select Assign Business Functions. Check that the Requisitioning function is selected, and then click Cancel.

To assign someone to a business unit that supports requisitioning:

  1. In the Setup and Maintenance work area, select:

    • Procurement offering

    • Users and Security functional area

    • Manage Business Unit Data Access for Users task

  2. On the Manage Data Access for Users page, search for the user who received the error. You must search by the user name that the user signs in with.

  3. Click the Create icon (+).

  4. On the Create Data Access for User dialog:

    1. Enter the user name that the user signs in with.

    2. Select the user's role that you want to add data access to, such as Procurement Requester.

    3. Select the Business unit security context.

    4. Select the requisitioning business unit you want to assign the user to in the Security Context Value field.

  5. Click Save and Close.

  6. Click Done.
