Prerequisites
These are the prerequisites for item replacement.
- To manage the item replacement task, you must be assigned a role that includes the Manage Item Replacement (SCH_MANAGE_ITEM_REPLACEMENT_PRIV) privilege. To access notification content corresponding to item replacement, you must be assigned a role that includes the Manage Item Replacement Notifications (SCH_MANAGE_ITEM_REPLACEMENT_NOTIFICATIONS_PRIV) privilege.
- To access the Item Replacement work area, you should be a buyer defined as a procurement agent with the manage orders permission for the procurement business units in which you would want to manage item replacement tasks.
- If you choose to replace the item using the manufacturer part number, ensure that
both these conditions are met:
- A trading partner relationship exists with the corresponding master item number.
- The purchase agreement has captured the manufacturer part number.
- A purchase agreement is required for the original item and the replacement item, or alternate supplier in case of a supplier replacement.
