Considerations for Searching Items in Oracle Healthcare Marketplace

Oracle Healthcare Marketplace gives you access to a vast list of healthcare items that have been cleansed and enriched with GTINs, manufacturer part numbers and relevant healthcare attributes.

Here are some of the considerations before searching items in Oracle Healthcare Marketplace:
  • Before you can search items in Oracle Healthcare Marketplace, you must meet these conditions:
    • You must have an agreement with Symmetric.
    • You must configure the connection that allows Oracle to connect to Symmetric to execute a search and return results.
    • You must have the Search Oracle Healthcare Marketplace for Items (POR_SEARCH_ORACLE_HEALTHCARE_MARKETPLACE_PRIV) privilege.
    • You must have opted in to the Procure Items from Oracle Healthcare Marketplace feature.
    • First, search in your local catalog. If you have opted into the Procure Extended Contract Items feature, search for items there next. If you still can't find the item you’re looking for, you can then search in Oracle Healthcare Marketplace.
  • Price and source aren't available for items returned from a search of Oracle Healthcare Marketplace.

  • When you add a search result to your shopping cart, the application tries to match the returned Unit of Measure (UOM) and category with the corresponding UOM and category in Fusion. If no match is found, the respective value will be left blank. However, even if a match is found, you can select or change the UOM and category as needed.

  • Purchase orders can't be automatically created for items from Oracle Healthcare Marketplace. The lines must be sent to a buyer for manual processing into a purchase order. This also means that a requester can't select the Negotiated checkbox while shopping.
