Create Payroll Elements

A payroll element is a type of pay that's available for a person and assignment combination. A common example of a payroll element is Bonus pay.

Labor distribution provides you with the ability to define labor schedules for pay elements using the Human Capital Management (HCM) Payroll element object.

Note: The payroll elements are already configured if your enterprise uses Oracle HCM Payroll.

Here are the steps you must perform to create a payroll element:

  1. In the Setup and Maintenance work area, go to the Elements task.

  2. Click the Create option.

  3. Select the values for the Legislative Data Group and Primary Classification, while setting the Category as Standard.

  4. Click Continue.

  5. Enter the element Name, Reporting Name, and Duration on the Basic Information page.

  6. Click Next.

  7. On the Additional Details page, verify if the default values selected are correct and click Next.

  8. Perform a final review of all the options selected for this element on the Review page.

Note: Using the default options is advised, while creating an element.
  9. Click Submit.

The payroll element is created. You can search for the new element using the Element Name.

Note: Additional elements may be created based on your Country settings. For more information on how to set up elements, refer to the Elements section of the Oracle Global Human Resources Cloud Implementing Global Payroll guide.
