Setting Up Apply Condition Actions

This topic describes how to apply conditions to transactions and other business objects automatically based on your business rule.

A condition indicates a dependency or contingency for completing the application process. You can apply conditions automatically using the Apply Condition action.

The Apply Condition action is available for Permits and Planning and Zoning workflow communications.

Note: To enable the workflow communication resources to be triggered, you need to modify your workflow process definition in Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC) to integrate through a Business Rules Framework REST resource. For more information on setting up the OIC integration for Business Rules Framework, see "Step 11: Add the POST Operation for the Business Rules Request " in the following topic: Setting Up the Transactions Connector. You can also refer to the delivered process definitions provided in solution packages for examples of the Business Rules Framework integration.

To configure an Apply Condition action:

  1. Expand the Criteria section of the Business Rules Details page.

    For more information on setting up criteria, see Setting Up Business Rule Criteria.

  2. Make sure your statements reference the applicable attributes in the business object.

    For example:

  3. Expand the Actions section of the Business Rules Details page.

  4. Click Add.

  5. From the Action Name drop-down list, select Apply Condition.

  6. Click Configure.

  7. Select the condition you want to apply from the Condition Name search field.

    Note: The prompt displays only conditions with an object type of Transaction and having at least one valid condition rule selected.

    To view or manage conditions, click the Access Conditions link, which takes you to the Conditions page.
